Effective: 2026 cycle (cutoff 31 December 2026, 00:00 SAST). These terms cover the inaugural ANML FARM Best Boer prize. They will be republished annually as new prize cycles open.
1. Eligibility
You qualify to compete on the Best Boer leaderboard if all of the following are true on the cutoff date:
- Your farm has an active ANML FARM organisation (not suspended, not deleted).
- Your farm has not opted out of the leaderboard via the Settings → Visibility toggle. Opted-out farms still see their private rank but do not appear on the public leaderboard, and are not eligible to win.
- You hold an active Owner, Manager, or Administrator role on the winning farm at the time the prize is announced.
- You are based in a region where ANML FARM is licensed to operate (currently South Africa). Eligibility outside South Africa will be announced as the platform expands.
2. The prize
The 2026 prize is a single stud sheep, donated by a partner breeder. Specific breed, age, and lineage are confirmed at announcement time and may vary year on year. Any costs of transport from the donor farm to the winner's farm are covered by ANML FARM. Vet certificates, transit permits, and movement records are the winner's responsibility from the moment of pickup.
The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash. If a winner declines the prize or cannot accept delivery within 60 days of the announcement, the prize passes to the runner-up.
3. How the winner is decided
The winner is the farm with the highest cumulative score across the six Best Boer categories at the moment the cutoff timestamp passes (31 December 2026, 00:00 SAST). The cumulative score is the unweighted sum of each category's 0 → 100 normalised score; higher is better.
If two or more farms tie on cumulative score, the tie is broken by:
- Highest
Animal Builderscore, then - Highest
Best Traderscore, then - Earliest farm creation date.
ANML FARM staff have no discretionary input into the cumulative ranking. Judge's Pick discretionary points (Phase 3) are tracked separately and announced alongside the main prize.
4. Fairness
Every category formula is published in plain language at /community/best-boer/formula/<category-code>. The formulas, normalisation method, and anti-gaming rules are stable for the 2026 cycle and will not change retroactively. Future cycles may revise weights or categories — those changes will be announced at the start of the new cycle, never mid-season.
5. Disqualification
A farm may be disqualified if any of the following are detected:
- Falsified animal records (deaths or sales hidden, phantom animals created).
- Falsified weigh-ins (impossible gains, copy-pasted captures across animals).
- Coordinated manipulation of the marketplace (fake sales between linked accounts).
- Use of multiple farms by a single beneficial owner to game per-farm metrics.
- Any breach of the ANML FARM Acceptable Use policy that materially affects the score.
ANML FARM staff investigate flagged accounts and may pause a farm's appearance on the leaderboard during an investigation. Findings are communicated to the farm's Owner before any final disqualification decision is made.
6. Personal data and privacy
The leaderboard surfaces your farm name and your scores per category. It does NOT surface individual user names, contact details, or farm location detail beyond the country / province scope you have selected. The opt-out toggle removes your farm from public surfaces while keeping your private rank visible to your own team.
Per our standard privacy policy, we never sell your data, never publish individual user identities without consent, and never share your scores with third parties outside the prize-fulfilment workflow. Full policy at /legal/privacy.
7. Changes to these terms
Material changes to the eligibility, prize, or scoring methodology require a notice at the top of /community/best-boer/formula/* and an in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Minor copy edits (typos, clarifications that don't affect scoring) are made in place and tracked in git.
8. Contact
Questions about the prize: community@anmlfarm.com. Disputes about your score or rank: include the period key (visible on the leaderboard) and your farm ID.
Best Boer is run by ANML FARM. The prize is sponsored season-by-season; donor recognition appears in the prize announcement post.
